New Timeline??

This week: trim, doors, cabinets, perhaps a garage door and kitchen appliances
Next week: drywall repair and painting the house (interior and exterior), staining the deck

For those of you who voted that we'd be back in before Christmas, you will more than likely be right considering our new "goal" is to be back in by November 1

Yes, I said November 1!!!

That's just about 6 weeks away. We have a LOT left to do but we'll get it done!

Doors and Trim

Trim work will be done all this week, which means doors, baseboards, casings, ledges, cabinets, and a slew of other things.

The downstairs bathroom, and both bathrooms upstairs now have flooring. Slowly but surely, it's starting to come together...

Hardwood pics

Because I haven't posted any new pics in ages, here are just a few to whet your appetite. We are in the midst of having our hardwood floors re-finished. You can't really tell by these pics, but it is a huge difference. Our old floors hadn't been re-finished in about 10 years and even then they probably just had a new coat of urethane. Now, we have had them sanded down to their original finish and this is after one coat of urethane. There will be a few more before the project is done...but that won't be for a while so as to not scuff things up too much. Here goes...



Now...

Calm before the storm

Here's what's going on in the house right now: sanding the hardwood floors. Not what you'd call exciting, but if you knew the condition of our floors, and saw how it's going, you'd be amazed. At least we are.

Anyway, that goes until Tuesday of next week. Then on Wednesday starts a wave of activity including:

• tearing up the existing floor and installing the tile in the kitchen
  
• cabinet installation in the kitchen and bathrooms
• bathrooms vinyl installation
• soffit in kitchen
• all trim work including stairs banister and hand rails
  
• appliances delivered
• garage door installed

That should be enough to last us a while. Hopefully we'll get some other stuff done as well. We're really getting down to some of the finer things of the project. It won't be too much longer.
