This is the stage where most of the "wow" stuff slows down and we get a lot of technical aspects the guys call "mechanicals" which means HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. Doesn't mean it isn't important, just that it isn't likely to excite many outside of us. But, by all means, do enjoy today's round of pics.
Staircase finished!
This has been replaced by...
This. And even better...
This! To you, not impressive. To us, AWESOME!!
Old hose bib...
New hose bib!
Bye bye, old wallpaper!
Like I said, nothing too exciting, but very important to the overall project.
Hope you're having a nice weekend!

Random pics
Tuesday August 4, 2009 may go down as the wettest day in history. The fact ANYONE got any work done without a boat is nothing short of a miracle. The guys indeed got some work done. Check out some random pics...
Our old HVAC unit
Where it used to be...and where the new one will go
Our old closet will now be framed off. Now it houses the HVAC to the upstairs.
Old closet without duct work
Shower to be installed hopefully Wednesday

Special thanks!
In all jobs there are the guys who don't get as much appreciation as they deserve. For our project, that easily describes Dave and Jerry from Jet Construction. These guys have been at our house since Day One and have done an unbelievable job transforming our house from a ranch to what currently exists today in just three short weeks.
Not only are they involved in the demolition, but they built the second floor, built the roof, installed the stairs, framed every room, and probably a TON of other things I'm missing right now. Next week, they're going to be putting our vinyl siding on the second story exterior. After that, I have no idea what they'll be doing...I'm sure it'll be something at our house and I'm sure they'll do a great job.
Just wanted to say a quick thanks to Dave and Jerry! You guys cannot possibly know how much we appreciate everything you've done for us!

Plumbing/HVAC
OK so these aren't the most exciting pics to date, but they are all as important as anything else...so try to enjoy. :-)
Kids' bathroom tub
Master bath double vanity
Intricate plumbing
The best invention of the 20th century (Air conditioning if you couldn't figure it out)
Old house, old problems. We don't have room inside the walls to run the plumbing, so we have to improvise.
We have to frame this corner out so we don't have random plumbing exposed. Fun!
A/C vents woohoo!
Master bath linen closet
Master shower...hopefully to be installed today.
Oh and there's a new poll question. Check it out.
